Welcome to the Style Identity FAQ!
Here you’ll find detailed answers about Personal Colour and Image Archetype Analysis sessions in Zurich, as well as practical information about booking and policies. Whether you’re new to colour analysis or curious about body typing, these FAQs will help you.
I. Personal Colour Analysis in Zurich
1. What’s the difference between the Full Session and Part 1 & Part 2 of the Personal Colour Analysis?
The Full Session is the original format I created. It lasts 4 hours and includes the complete colour analysis experience in one sitting in Zurich — from the draping process to the theory, education, and personalised materials. Some clients prefer to split the session into two parts:
- Part 1 (2 hours): Draping, determining your colour type, taking photos, and receiving your take-home colour fan.
- Part 2 (2 hours): Held on a different day. Includes your personalised PDF guide, secret Pinterest board, and in-depth training on your personal contrast levels, how to combine colours, ideal makeup and hair colours, colour psychology, and more.
Both formats lead to the same result. You can choose the option that best suits your energy, time, and budget.
2. How does the colour analysis process work?
Colour analysis is a visual, comparison-based process. You’ll sit in front of a mirror while I test professional colour drapes under your face. These are applied in a specific sequence to observe how your natural colouring — skin, features, and overall appearance — responds to each hue. I guide you through the process step by step and explain what we’re seeing in the mirror, so you see and understand it with your own eyes.
3. I was analysed in the 4 Season system before. Is this different?
Yes, it’s different — and significantly more precise. The 4 Season system defines only four types (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), which is too limited to capture the full range of human colouring. I use a far more nuanced system that leads to greater accuracy.
4. What system / colour types do you work with?
I work with an extended version of the 12 Season system — including all 12 core types, plus nuanced subtypes such as Soft Autumn Light, Soft Autumn Deep, Cold Deep Winter, Icy Light Summer, and more. This means I currently define over 17 distinct colour types. You’ll also gain insight into your second-best type, as well as your personal hue contrast and value contrast — key factors that help you understand how to wear and combine colours in everyday life. All sessions are hands-on, visual, and personalised. I do not use automated apps or shortcuts. (Note: Hue & value contrast is included in the Full Session and/or Part 2, not in PCA Part 1.)
5. Can you go beyond the standard 12 types?
Yes. I often refine your Season with subtle distinctions to reflect your individual colouring more precisely. These nuances account for subtle variations in hue, value, and chroma within each colour type — ensuring your results are truly personalised, not just based on a general Season label. For example, some Soft Autumns flow into Soft Summer and are more neutral; others are distinctly warm and lean toward Warm/True Autumn.
6. Why is natural daylight important for colour analysis?
Natural daylight provides the full spectrum of light waves, which allows for accurate perception of colour. Regular artificial lighting distorts how colours appear on the skin, making precise analysis impossible. That’s why all Personal Colour Analysis sessions take place during daylight hours. In case of unexpected weather, I have a full-spectrum LED lamp specifically designed for professional colour analysts.
7. Why can’t I wear makeup to my colour analysis session?
Colour analysis requires seeing your natural skin tone and features without any external colour interference. If you wear makeup (foundation, mascara, lipstick, blush, etc.), we’ll end up analysing the makeup instead of your true colouring. Please come with a clean, makeup-free face to ensure the most accurate results. If needed, you can remove your makeup at the studio.
8. I wear prescription glasses. Can I keep them on during the session?
If possible, please wear clear contact lenses instead of glasses. Glasses cover the eye area, which is essential for accurate colour analysis. If contacts aren’t an option, I’ll ask you to remove your glasses during the draping in front of the mirror, so that I can assess your colouring properly.
9. I have rosacea, acne, hyperpigmentation, or a port-wine stain. Will that affect the analysis?
Not at all. I’ve worked with many clients who have rosacea, acne, hyperpigmentation, or a port-wine stain (nevus flammeus). These conditions don’t interfere with the accuracy of the analysis. In fact, they often become more noticeable in unflattering colours — which can help confirm your Season.
10. Do you have experience working with clients of Asian (including Indian) descent, or with darker skin tones?
Yes. I’ve worked with many clients of East Asian and South Asian descent, as well as with those of North African or Middle Eastern heritage. A small number of clients have mentioned partial Black ancestry. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am committed to providing a personalised, respectful, and accurate analysis.
11. What if I don’t like the colours in my colour palette?
It’s common to dislike colours that don’t suit you. One client strongly disliked khaki, which the draping confirmed was one of her worst colours. Your palette contains colours that complement your skin tone and features. Some shades might feel unfamiliar at first, but once you see how healthy and harmonious you look in your best colours, you’ll often come to appreciate them. Sometimes, a favourite colour might not be ideal for you (e.g., you love pastel blue, but a warmer, deeper blue suits you better). During your session (Full & Part 2), I’ll share tips on how to wear less flattering colours.
12. I’m afraid you’ll tell me I can’t wear black (or beige, pink, etc.).
Personal Colour Analysis is meant to be freeing, not restrictive. My role is to show you which colours make you look healthiest and most vibrant — and which ones don’t. What you do with that insight is entirely up to you. From personal experience, I discovered colour combinations I never would have tried before my own analysis. Every palette includes versions of white, navy, red, violet and more — so you're never without options. The goal isn’t to feel guilty about compromises or past choices — it’s to move forward with clarity and confidence.
13. What if I think I was placed in the wrong Season?
If you genuinely think the result was wrong, I offer one free re-draping session within 3 months of your original appointment. The re-draping is conducted with the same care, precision, and neutrality as the initial analysis.
14. Can I book a Personal Colour Analysis on the same day as my friend, sister, or mum?
Each Personal Colour Analysis Full Session lasts 4 hours and requires full focus and natural daylight — which is why I usually offer only one session per day. That said, I understand the desire to book sessions close together, especially if you're travelling together. In some cases, it may be possible to schedule two Full Sessions on the same day with a generous break in between. Another option is to book Part 1 (2 hours) of the session for both people on the same day, and Part 2 (2 hours) for both on a later date. Please note: all sessions are one-on-one, and it’s not possible to observe each other’s session.
II. Image Archetype / Body Type Analysis in Zurich
15. Do you recommend having Personal Colour Analysis and Image Archetype Analysis on the same day or separate days?
I strongly recommend spacing the sessions apart. Both Personal Colour Analysis and Image Archetype are intensive and each lasts 4 hours. It’s best to start with the Colour Analysis, then allow 2–3 weeks for the insights to settle before moving on to the Image Archetype session. This break helps you absorb what you’ve learned and prepares you for the next step. Seeing you during the Colour Analysis also gives me valuable visual input to assess your body geometry. After the session, I typically take several photos and spend a few days analysing your body type before preparing your personalised Image Archetype document.
16. Can I book the Image Archetype (Body Type) session without having done the Colour Analysis?
Yes, you can book the Image Archetype session independently. If you’re interested in both services, I recommend starting with the Colour Analysis, but it’s not required. Each session provides valuable insights, regardless of the order.
17. Should I book my Body Type (Kibbe/Image Archetype) session now or wait until after pregnancy or weight changes? Can my body type change over time?
Your Kibbe Body Type remains the same throughout adulthood, regardless of weight gain, weight loss, or pregnancy. This is because your bone structure — which determines your proportions, length, width, and overall frame — stays constant. Softness or firmness of flesh is genetically determined. My clients vary in age and size, including plus-size clients, and weight changes do not alter their Kibbe type. For example, celebrities like Gemma Collins (Flamboyant Natural), Christian Bale (Soft Dramatic), and Elizabeth Taylor (Romantic) maintained the same body type despite weight fluctuations or aging. You can choose to have your Body Type session whenever it suits you best. Many clients prefer to have it after their Personal Colour Analysis session.
18. For which ages are your Personal Colour Analysis and Image Archetype sessions suitable?
Personal Colour Analysis is designed for teenagers (around age 13 and up), women, and men. Younger clients may be considered individually if they’re interested and able to participate calmly and attentively. Image Archetype (Body Type) Analysis is intended for adults aged 18 and over, when the body’s structure is fully developed to ensure accurate results.
III. Logistics & Booking
19. How can I pay?
All sessions must be paid in advance. After booking, you will receive an invoice with full payment details. Preferred payment methods are bank transfer or TWINT. Please include your full name in the payment reference. Gift vouchers require immediate payment upon purchase. Cash payments are not accepted unless previously agreed under exceptional circumstances.
20. What is your cancellation policy?
There is no cancellation fee, no matter when you cancel. Please just notify me as early as possible so I can offer your time slot to someone else. If you reschedule, your original session price is valid for 6 months. After that, the current rate applies.
21. What time should I book my session for?
It depends on the session type. Personal Colour Analysis requires good daylight, so it must take place during the day. The ideal start time depends on the season — in summer, there's more flexibility; in winter (especially November to January), late morning to early afternoon works best. Image Archetype sessions don’t require daylight and can be held at any time — including evenings if virtual. Once you request a date, I’ll confirm the best start time based on the season and session type.
22. I don’t speak English very well. Can the session be in another language?
Yes — sessions are also available in German, and occasionally in other languages such as Spanish, Czech or Italian. If you prefer a language other than German or English, please let me know in advance so I can prepare accordingly.
23. Where do the sessions take place?
For private clients, Personal Colour Analysis sessions take place exclusively at the Style Identity studio in Zurich Oerlikon, a convenient location easily accessible by public transport and with guest parking available nearby. Image Archetype sessions and Personal Shopping can be done either in person or virtually, depending on your preference. For corporate or team bookings, custom onsite arrangements may be possible depending on logistics and setup — feel free to contact me to discuss options.
24. I live far away. Can you analyse me from photos or via video call?
No. Accurate colour analysis depends on subtle visual comparisons under natural daylight or a professional full-spectrum lamp. Cameras and screens unfortunately distort colour, so remote analysis isn’t reliable. Many clients travel from across Switzerland and abroad to my Zurich-based studio to ensure their results are precise.
25. Can I schedule an appointment on a Saturday or Sunday?
Yes, I offer in-person sessions in Zurich Monday through Sunday, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, including public holidays. Virtual Image Archetype sessions can also be booked outside these hours upon request.
26. Are there parking spaces in front of the studio?
Yes, guest parking is available in front of the building.
27. Are there shops and restaurants near your studio?
Yes, there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the Style Identity studio in Zurich Oerlikon, including Tibits, Santa Lucia, Coop City, H&M, and more.

29. Can I bring my baby with me?
