Image Archetype Map
We have looked at the Origin of Image Archetypes and the Image Archetype Families earlier. I wanted to create an Image Archetype (IA) map for my IA clients as it is an efficient way to gently introduce the IA theory without getting too much into detail. After looking at some Kibbe Body Type/IA maps on Pinterest and Google, there was one that particularly caught my attention (link to source) and provided a base for the map I was about to create.
Overall, there are very few IA maps out there, simply because the IAs are nearly impossible to map. There are so many variables and dimensions to consider with the IA theory, that any map, no matter how precise from a certain point of view, will not be all-encompassing and will not be able to explain everything. Sometimes, it could even confuse the viewer. Therefore, please keep that in mind when looking at any IA (aka Kibbe Body Types or Essences) maps.
Having said that, here is Style Identity’s take on the IA map. I included all of the Kibbe Body Types as well as Ingenue and Ethereal Essences. Can you see some of the thought process behind the IA theory? Can you see some similarities and differences between the IAs?
